Moab, UT

CCHM partners in Moab, UT successfully combined several campaign types to better understand how extreme heat and air quality are affecting Moab residents and how city officials can better prepare the thousands of visitors who enjoy Moab’s public lands each year for the heat. The city conducted a small Heat Watch mapping study and installed stationary heat monitors at trailheads.

The Moab work was made possible by local support from the city and in-kind technical support provided by local CCHM partners based in Utah. Moab is also participating in a regional air quality study which is supported and led by faculty at the University of Utah, which will be combined with the larger findings of the other studies which were conducted by CAPA Strategies.
